It is a very commonly asked question - When can a Security Officer carry/use batons and handcuffs? The answer - when they have been trained, have authority from their employer and when they have a genuine reason (eg. patrols, working alone, night shifts,
etc). They are NOT to be carried for Crowd Control, Private Investigations, Debt Collections or when off duty.
This course provides participants with the skills for assessing a risk situation, responding to and manage a risk situation using batons and handcuffs as well as an in depth understanding of the legalities pertaining to the use of force. Weapon
retention, weapon disarming, maintenance, storage and transport of restricted items is also covered.
The course is delivered through practical training, scenarios, role plays and group discussions. The instructors are industry professionals with extensive experience in the use of defensive weapons. This program is conducted through practical training,

CERTIFICATE 3 IN SECURITY OPERATIONS
This course will create the opportunity for employment in specialist areas of the security industry. You will gain critical skills required in developing and carrying out an operational plan, supervising and managing a small team for general security operations relating to the protection of people, self-defence and the defence of others. This course is recommended only for persons who already have a level of experience within the security industry. The course will be face to face for five days Monday to Friday plus online/self-paced pre course material. Students will be required to complete after hours’ research and case studies.
