The Diploma of Early Childhood Education & Care gives access to a good position in many child-care related services. It will you provide you with an advanced understanding of many facets of childcare, early childhood education and development.
Studying this course will teach you how to foster the physical, emotional and social development of the children in your care. You will also learn how to promote language and communication development, plan adequately for the children’s daily needs and make sure that their play experiences encourage and facilitate their development.
You will also gain supervisor and management skills that will equip you to fulfill the following positions: Authorised supervisor (children’s services, Children’s services coordinator, Centre manager (children’s services), Director (children’s services), Child care educator and more.
To complete this course you will need to successfully complete 23 core units and 5 electives. As part of the course assessment, you will also need to arrange work placement for a total of at least 240 hours in a regulated education or childcare service centre.
DetailsEntry Requirements
There are no prerequisites for this qualification, however it is recommended that participants have the following ACSF Levels:
Level 4 for Learning, Reading, Writing & Oral and Level 3 for Numeracy. An initial assessment will be conducted to identify the ACSF level of participants in this course.
18 months for face to face. Up to 24 months to complete for online education.
