Course description

The Bachelor of Applied Information Technology is a La Trobe University Degree course delivered by Computer Power Institute. The Bachelor Degree has an embedded Diploma of Applied Information Technology as its first year.

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to administer and manage information and communications technology (ICT) support in small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) using a wide range of general ICT technologies.

Persons working at this level provide an ICT support function, applying a wide range of higher level technical skills in ICT areas such as networking, IT support, database development, programming and web development.

Course duration

You can complete your Diploma in 12 months with the flexibility online learning gives you. Studying 25 hours per week on average (100 hours per month) should see you successfully complete your qualification within this timeframe. All assessments must be completed and marked within the 12-month time limit.

To receive this qualification you must complete 4 core units and 16 elective units. Elective units have been chosen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications. If you have already completed other eligible elective units, these may be counted towards completion of this program.
