Get qualified to become a real estate agent!

On-the-job training, suitable for those entering the industry or already working.

Daily responsibilities of a licensed agent may include things such as managing property sales and leases, conducting auctions, dealing with clients interested in buying or selling property, managing property maintenance, participating in tribunals and many more.

This qualification is suitable for:

  • Individuals seeking entry into the real estate industry. In order to work in Victoria students must first gain their agent’s representative license consisting of 3 units of competency from this Certificate IV. Students can complete these 3 units first, then continue on with the remaining 21 units once employment has been found within the industry.
  • Those who are currently working in real estate as an Agent’s Representative who wish to work towards gaining their full real estate agent’s license or who wish to improve their real estate industry skills and knowledge.
  • Existing workers who have been working in the industry for some time and wish to gain recognition for their existing skills and knowledge.

Outline

Workplace based course delivery
  • Students who enrol in this course with Training Partners Australia will be required to complete at least 120 hours of work placement during the course, or be currently working in the industry.
  • Students will work one-on-one with a supportive trainer/assessor who will provide on-the-job training and support, as well as assess their competency as they progress through the course.
  • Students will also require support from a workplace supervisor.
  • Throughout your course you will be visited regularly in the workplace by your trainer/assessor.  Visits will occur at least once every 6 weeks and will include one-on-one training, support and assessment to suit your individual needs.
  • Get paid to learn – traineeships available for eligible students.

 

Course Duration

The course is self-paced however it is estimated that you will complete the course within 10–12 months. However, as the course is self-paced you can work through the course at a pace that suits you, in accordance with your individual training plan.

Career Outcomes

Students who complete this course can expect to work as a licensed real estate agent. Once licensed,  real estate agents are able to go into business independently or manage/operate a real estate agency.  Roles and responsibilities will vary from state to state based on license requirements.

Topics

Students must complete a total of 25 units to be awarded this qualification.  Units have been organised into clusters to group related study topics and avoid repetition. Cluster topics are:

  2.     Legislation
  3.     Client relationships
  4.     Leasing properties
  5.     Property management
  6.     Risk management
  7.     Selling and appraisals
  8.     Conducting auctions
  9.     Working as a buyer’s agent
  10.     Business and finance
  11.     Conflict and dispute management
Credits and Recognition

Training Partners Australia recognises the qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other RTOs. Students must provide certified copies of qualifications, statements of attainment and/or record of results to gain recognition and/or credit transfer.

Additionally, we offer a comprehensive Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program for those who wish to gain recognition for previous work and life experience.

Further Study Options

Although the Certificate IV is not an entry requirement of the Diploma, students may wish to go onto complete the Diploma of Property Services (Agency Management) with other RTOs after completion of the Certificate IV.  Students who go onto the Diploma will receive significant credits into the Diploma. An additional optional pathway may be the Diploma of Property Services (Business Broking).
