WHY IS RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL (RSA) CERTIFICATE  NECESSARY ?

In Sydney as well as the rest of NSW, it is a legal & mandatory requirement to have a valid & authentic NSW RSA certificate for licensees and staffs who are selling, serving or offering alcohol in the establishments with the general, on-premises, late night and packaged liquor licenses.

So, if you are looking for a job (as a Security guard, Bar tender or General staff) in places such as restaurant, pubs, night club, concert halls, sports stadium or music festivals where alcohol is served, you’ll be required to hold a NSW RSA certificate.

WHAT DOES MST’S RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL (RSA) COURSE OFFER ?

While pursuing this ‘one-day’ Responsible Service of Alcohol course from Marshall Security Training (RTO), you will learn how to serve alcohol responsibly by identifying intoxicated patrons and underage drinkers. It will help you understand all the regulations regarding alcohol and its consumption in Australia. You will also learn how to measure standard drinks and legally sell and serve alcohol abiding by all the rules. This course also aims to bring awareness and prevention of drunk driving.

The information provided in our RSA course will help you understand the role of your employers complying with the legislation and your responsibilities when serving drinks containing alcohol to patrons.

Responsible Service of Alcohol has been a part of NSW’s liquor laws for more than 100 years. Presently, it deals with:

  • Intoxicated minors (anyone under 18)

  • Alcohol-related violence and crime

  • Drunk and disorderly patrons

  • Noise disturbances.

To comply with Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) laws, licensees and venue staff must:

  • Recognize the signs of impending intoxication

  • Do Not serve anyone who shows these signs

  • Do Not serve anyone who arrives already intoxicated

  • Understand the principles of ‘standard drinks ‘ and drink driving levels

  • Discourage patrons from actions that can harm themselves or others

  • Understand the impact of alcohol on our community
