This advanced nationally recognised qualification builds on the previous academic and/or vocational experience of participants, allowing students to further their career in the aged care sector and become qualified for a variety of more senior roles within the industry.

Specific skills covered by this course include:

  •          Implementing interventions for people at risk
  •          Addressing the needs of people with chronic disease
  •          Coordinating services for older people
  •          Facilitating individual service planning and delivery

Upon completing this qualification, you will be qualified to work within the following roles:

  •          Accommodation Support Worker
  •          Hostel Supervisor
  •          Assistant Hostel Supervisor
  •          Personal Care Worker
  •          Care Supervisor
  •          Care Team Leader
  •          Residential Care Worker
  •          Support Worker

Outline

This course can be undertaken as workplace training if a participant currently holds a position within the industry working a minimum of 15 hours per week. Workplace training involves monthly workplace visits, one-on-one training, and flexible assessment methods. When completed in the workplace this qualification can be earned in approximately 18 months.

  •          CHCPAL001 - Deliver care services using a palliative approach
  •          CHCPRP001 - Develop and maintain networks and collaborative                         partnerships
  •          HLTAAP001 - Recognise healthy body systems
  •          CHCAGE003 - Coordinate services for older people
  •          CHCAGE004 - Implement interventions with older people at risk
  •          CHCCCS006 - Facilitate individual service planning and delivery
