Advancements in the care of the elderly and disabled have led to a more holistic approach to care. Service providers are now required to provide a broad range of activities tailored to the specific social and recreational needs of their clients.
This nationally recognised qualification will train you to assess the behaviour of those requiring support and implement leisure activities or programs to support and enrich their everyday lives.
Upon completion of this qualification, participants will be equipped with the skills they need to undertake the following roles:
- Program coordinator – social programs
- Day activity worker
- Lifestyle coordinator
- Lifestyle assistant
Outline
This course can be delivered by E-focus in two different formats:
IN THE CLASSROOM
When delivered in a classroom setting this course can be completed in approximately in 30 weeks. Training takes place 2 days per week 9:30am – 2:30am at one of our training locations around Victoria.
IN THE WORKPLACE
This course can be undertaken as workplace training if a participant currently holds a position within the industry working a minimum of 15 hours per week. Workplace training is conducted 3 hours per fortnight, and should be completed after approximately 18
months.

- CHCLAH002 - Contribute to leisure and health programming
- CHCLAH003 -Participate in the planning, implementation and monitoring of individual leisure and health programs
- CHCLAH004 - Participate in planning leisure and health programs for clients with complex needs
- CHCLAH005 - Incorporate lifespan development and sociological concepts into leisure and health programming
- CHCPRP003 - Reflect on and improve own professional practice
