ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Overview:
 This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of early childhood education settings who work within the current regulated industry standards. They support the implementation of an approved learning framework, and support children’s well being, learning and development. Depending on the setting, educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously.
  • This qualification can also be done as a traineeship.
Learning Outcomes
  • Entry level understanding of children’s development
  • Entry level understanding of the health and safety of supervising children
  • Entry level understanding of providing holistic learning development experiences
  • Ability to provide emergency first aid response to children
  • Ability to identify and respond to behavioural issues
Learner Commitment: In order to undertake this qualification, the learner commitment is expected to be at a minimum of 35-45 hours a week. This includes:
  • Face to Face Classroom
  • Homework and Self-study
  • Work Placement hours
  • Assignment activities
  • Assessment time
*The above mentioned hours may vary based on the learner’s recognition of prior learning and competencies 

Possible Job Outcomes: Learners who have successfully completed the course are expected to find employment in the following positions:
  • Nanny
  • Playgroup Supervisor
  • Early Child Care Worker
  • Family Day Care Worker
  • Early Childhood Educator Assistant
  • Out Of School Hours Care Assistant

Work Placement: 120 hours’ minimum work placement within a Regulated Early Childhood and Education and Care facility is compulsory for this qualification. Work Experience Insurance will be provided by REACH for Training.
