Join Mo Godbeer in a fun, inspiring, and supportive environment,

for one of her awesome workshops!

Whether you are a painter, printmaker or work in fibre, paper, photography, collage, or sculpture, you will love to add the unique Encaustic magic to your work! No experience is needed. You only need to bring your creative self!

Once the medium of the ancient Greeks, Encaustic Painting has experienced huge popularity in the contemporary art community. Hot molten beeswax, and pigments, make up your palette as you create luminous texture with an infinite number of techniques!

In Mo’s encaustic workshop, you will learn & experiment with a vast variety of encaustic techniques, creating sample boards as well as completed artworks. There will be lots of time to play and create your own works.

9:30am to 4:00 pm.

Please arrive at 9am each day ready for a prompt start at 9.30

 

Workshop Cost and Material Charge

The cost for this workshop is $230 for two full days of creativity payable at time of booking. This price includes GST and a Tax invoice will be provided on request.

There is an additional $30 materials charge to be paid to Mo on arrival (the materials charge includes all good quality materials, boards, limitless Encaustic Medium, tools, etc. for the weekend).

Please read the information listed below carefully, as each workshop booking is subject to the standard terms and conditions of Encaustic Workshops Australia.

Registering for this Workshop event means that you have accepted these terms and conditions as listed below:

Payment for your Workshop is Non-Refundable but the whole ticket for both days may be transferred to another Participant. You may substitute without incurring additional fees at any time prior to the workshop by emailing us at [email protected]

The workshop is designed to be progressive, so You Must Attend Day one in order to attend Day two. 

We may take   photos or Videos for future Marketing or promotional use or just to share  with other Encaustic enthusiasts,  If you do not wish to be photographed or recorded please make this known to Mo or Mark and your wishes will be respected. you also agree that you will not be entitled to remuneration, residuals, royalties or any other payment r in respect of its use.

You are welcome to take your own Photos, however Video recording of the demonstrations is not permitted

If the Workshop is cancelled or postponed due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund for the workshop will be offered 

Flights, accommodation, and any other loss sustained will not be reimbursed.

 

We are concerned with the protection of your privacy. We support the privacy principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), as amended. We may collect and store your personal information for the purposes of marketing future events and obtaining past and future workshop feedback only and your details will never be provided to third parties.

The Organisers are not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of cancellation / postponement of the Workshop. The Organisers shall assume no liability whatsoever in the event this Workshop is cancelled, rescheduled or postponed due to a fortuitous event, Act of God, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders delivery of this conference impracticable, illegal or impossible, in the sole opinion of The Organisers. For the purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event shall include, but not be limited to: war, fire, earthquake, labour strike, extreme weather or other emergency.

Encaustic Workshops Australia and organisers will not accept liability for damages of any nature sustained by Participants or  loss of, or damage to their personal property as a result of attending a workshops.

Special Requirements:  Every effort will be made to ensure that participants with special needs are catered for. Should you require any specific needs please Discuss this with Mo and Mark prior to the workshop.

Please note that all workshops for are for Adults over the age of 18 years. No person under the age of 18 will be permitted to attend the workshop without the prior agreement of the organisers.

What we will cover in this workshop

Each day you will first create a technique board as a visual reference

and then you will have the opportunity to create one or two artworks using these Techniques

  • Board prepping

  • Mark making with Indian ink, pastels etc
  • Smooth Surface
  • Image transfer
  • Stencils
  • Line and edge
  • Masking
  • Layering colour

 

 

What to Bring to The Workshop

There will be a $30 material fee to cover cost of wax boards, paints and much more

I will provide everything for the workshop that you will need.  tools, good quality paints and plywood boards to work on ‘I also bring a lot of things for you to experiment and to play with. so all you need to bring is your apron and a creative spirit!  However, should you wish to incorporate some personal mementos or symbols. I have created a list below of optional things to bring if they interest you personally.

Photos or Images

Photos or Images printed with a laser printer or laser copier. (prints from an “Ink Jet printer” with little ink cartridges do not work for image transfer. Please note that the image needs to be reversed especially if using text please flip horizontally or mirror print your image.

Pigments

Oil sticks, oil paints, oil pastels, dry pastels etc  Not Acrylic (I will supply lots of good Artist quality pigments and paints so only bring your own if you want to use your colours),  please clearly mark with your name.

Stencils etc

Mylar Stencils, anything interesting that you could use to make impressions in the wax such as plastic lace, onion bags, plastic place mats, gauze etc

Personal tools

If you have any tools that you are bringing, please clearly mark these with your name so they don’t get lost or mixed up with mine in the general clean up.

Once again, this list is completely OPTIONAL! As everything you need will be provided.
