Course Delivery Method
This course is conducted each week from Monday to Friday commencing at 8.00am and runs for approximately seven (7) hours each day depending on class sizes. The training is delivered face to face in class including scenario’s, role plays, DVD training and
hands-on instructional demonstrations, plus online/self-paced pre-course material. Students will be required to complete after hour’s research and case studies. Teamwork and team learning skills are encouraged in the classroom.
Units of Competency
To obtain the security officer unarmed license you must have first completed an approved training course. Certificate II in Security Operations will enable you to apply for this license. The units required to be completed for this course are:

CPPSEC2003B Work effectively in the security industry
CPPSEC2004B Respond to security risk situation
CPPSEC2005A Work as part of a security team
CPPSEC2006B Provide security services to clients
CPPSEC2011B Control access to and exit from premises
CPPSEC2014A Operate basic security equipment
CPPSEC2015A Patrol premises
CPPSEC2017A Protect self and others using basic defensive tactics
CPPSEC3013A - Control persons using empty hand techniques
HLTFA311A Apply first aid
CERTIFICATE 3 IN SECURITY OPERATIONS
This course will create the opportunity for employment in specialist areas of the security industry. You will gain critical skills required in developing and carrying out an operational plan, supervising and managing a small team for general security operations relating to the protection of people, self-defence and the defence of others. This course is recommended only for persons who already have a level of experience within the security industry. The course will be face to face for five days Monday to Friday plus online/self-paced pre course material. Students will be required to complete after hours’ research and case studies.
