The APMG-International AgilePM® certification aims to address the needs of those working in a project-focused environment who want to be agile.
APMG AgilePM® certification is available at Foundation and Practitioner levels; these are accessed via one combined Foundation/Practitioner course, a Foundation Exam and an optional Practitioner Exam; total duration is 4 days. Passing the Foundation Exam is a pre-requisite for sitting the Practitioner Exam.
The course consists of one quick run through all the components of AgilePM® (the foundation course) followed by a more in-depth analysis of the method from the Project Manager’s perspective (the practitioner course); it also includes investigating and practicing how to apply Agile PM™ in a real life project, via a number of targeted exercises as well as individual and group activities.
During the course we will also pay attention to how AgilePM® and PRINCE2® can work together; organizations already applying PRINCE2® do not need to “replace” PRINCE2® in order to adopt AgilePM®; they can in fact have the best of both worlds.
The fourth and last day of the course is dedicated to preparing and sitting both the Foundation Exam (in the morning) and the optional Practitioner Exam (in the Afternoon).
The AgilePM® Foundation Examination takes place on the morning of day 4 of the course.

The Practitioner Examination
The AgilePM® Practitioner Examination is optional and takes place on the afternoon of day 4 of the course.
- Scenario based (one scenario for the whole exam)
- Objective testing
- 4 questions per paper, 20 marks available per question
- 40 marks required to pass (out of 80 available) – 50%
- 2.5 hours duration
- Open book (restricted to the official manual only) examination.
Pre-requisites
There are no pre-requisites for attending the course and sitting the AgilePM® Foundation Exam.
In order to be able to sit the AgilePM® Practitioner Exam a candidate must have already passed one of the following exams:
- AgilePM® Foundation
- DSDM Atern Foundation
- DSDM Advanced Practitioner
