This course will enable you to prepare either a GRI Core report, or a GRI Comprehensive report. The training materials are Certified by the Global Reporting Initiative.
Take outs of the course include:
- Understand, interpret and implement the GRI G4 concepts
- Select and prepare the information to be disclosed in the final report
- Apply the Reporting Principles (Stakeholder Inclusiveness, Sustainability Context, Materiality, Completeness, Balance, Comparability, Accuracy, Timeliness, Clarity and Reliability
- Identify, prioritise and communicate with your Stakeholders
- Identify material Aspects (topics) and their Boundaries (internal and/or external to your organisation)
- Communicate your report in innovative ways
- Prepare you for future reporting cycles through continuous improvement of your processes.
This training course takes participants through the five phases of the GRI sustainability reporting process:
– Prepare (Plan your reporting content, Hold a kick-off meeting, Impacts of an organisation’s activities)
– Connect (Identify stakeholders)
– Define (Select topics for action, Decide on report content, Check internal procedures and make changes, Discuss and set performance goals)
– Monitor (Check processes and monitor activities, Ensure quality of information)
- Report (Report and communicate)
You should attend if:
you are new to the Global Reporting Initiative sustainability reporting process, or
are a reporter who may need some extra instruction to help you along.
It is beneficial to have more than one person from the same organisation attend the workshop, as sustainability reporting is multi-disciplinary in nature, and it helps to have more than one person with GRI knowledge as support.
