Explore the logic that underpins a decision to outsource or not.

The workshop aims to develop participants capability for pursuing the outsourcing or sharing of services and achieving better value for money. The decision to outsource must be based on a sound rationale strategically. Explore the decision from a variety of perspectives and follow the process once the decision has been taken to proceed. The workshop will examine the strategic, commercial and change management issues raised as a result of an outsourcing decision from an executive perspective.

Our practical one-day course will equip you with the knowledge and tools to:

  • Describe the end-to-end outsourcing process in terms of key activities and tools.
  • Evaluate the 'do or contract' decision using a number of perspectives to validate the strategic logic of outsourcing.
  • Define service standards and costs at required and affordable levels, based on current business priorities rather than historical choices.
  • Manage the procurement process to locate, evaluate and select a suitable service provider.
  • Describe the options for contractual mechanisms to deliver the services and describe the change management requirements to transition to a new provider.
