Lean & Operational Excellence for Procurement

Identify constraints and maximise throughput, with the same resources, from an increased awareness of lean methods and their applications.

The workshop aims to introduce the participants to practical lean and operational excellence tools, concepts and methodologies to improve the efficiency of procurement resources and maximise the effectiveness of the procurement process.  Explore LEAN, Theory of Constraints and Six Sigma tools and concepts - methodologies that have traditionally been applied to production although any process can benefit from their application.

1 DAY COURSE

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Our practical one-day course will equip you with the knowledge and tools to:

  • Describe and apply a selection of lean tools and techniques to a process and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Critically review the procurement process and identify opportunities to remove constraints, reduce delays and accelerate throughput.
  • Critically review the supply chain from organisation to first tier supplier/s and identify opportunities to remove constraints, reduce delays and eliminate waste.
  • Evaluate opportunities for improvement and propose a business case for reengineering the process based on a reasoned opportunity analysis.
  • Support the application of lean methodologies and be capable of demonstrating selected tools to highlight the contribution of them to operational excellence.
