This intensive workshop explores the tools, techniques and methods of effective category management.  Participants will discover how value is created and/or lost throughout the category management process.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Our practical two-day course will equip you with the knowledge and tools to:

  • Describe the end-to-end category management process and identify the activities and tools that are used at each phase.
  • Describe the role of the category manager during the process and examine examples of how value is added at each phase.
  • Develop plans for categories with a range of complexity and match the degree of management rigour required to the complexity of the category.
  • Distinguish between purchasing, sourcing, procurement and category management and be able to sell the benefits of category management to stakeholders.
  • Develop strategies to manage demand along with supplier performance and demonstrate appropriate behaviours to achieve the desired category outcomes.
